Mosquitoes

April showers bring more than May flowers… they bring standing water. And standing water provides the perfect place for mosquitoes to breed.  Let’s get a head start on mosquito abatement this year by examining our yards and taking care of areas where water accumulates. Please contact Tony Kalebic (382-7495) for information on managing your sump pump to prevent standing water.  More information about our 2011 Mosquito Abatement services will be provided in the May issue of The Common Ground.

POND MAINTENANCE – July 15, 2010

Erosion problem around the drainage area of the pond has been addressed as has concerns regarding excessive algae has also been addressed.

Pond responded well to additional algaecide treatment—now virtually free of algae, though with the heat wave we can expect another bloom.

We’re repositioning the bubblers in hopes they’ll be more effective—this was to occur July 15, 2010.
